Antisemitic sentiment? "I'm on board!" - Disgraced educator nears demise.

Berlin's Science Senator Ina Czyborra (57, SPD) declared that Rauch's public apology wasn't enough. The Tech University (TU) needs to discuss the issue further through their committees: "The focus is to protect the TU, the Berlin science scene, and the state of Berlin."

The Central Council of Jews was even more critical after Rauch's confession. President Josef Schuster (70) called the apology from the university president, who had vanished for 36 hours, "not believable" and based on "excuses."

The university presidium's strong statement was extremely controversial. The vice-presidents referred to a "grave mistake" and compared it to the Nazi era, where the university was "influenced by anti-Semitic ideology."

The explosive stance of the university presidium is indeed very controversial. The vice-presidents labeled it a "grave mistake" and made a connection to the Nazi era, where the university was "affected by anti-Semitic ideas."

According to "Tagesspiegel," Rauch was also urged internally to "promptly step down from her position." This is evident from an email sent to the university president and other TU members. The serious accusation: Rauch had "severely harmed the TU, the science capital of Berlin, and science in general" with her anti-Semitic likes.

For historian Peter Hoeres (53, University of Würzburg), Rauch's resignation is necessary. His reasoning stems from the fact that "her presidium has clearly taken a stand against her." What's more, Rauch "installed a controversial anti-Semitism researcher, Uffa Jensen, who tried to clear her name." However, even he "didn't succeed completely."

After a long pause, University President Rauch spoke up on Wednesday afternoon and owned up to liking anti-Semitic content on X (Twitter). Some of the posts included a photo depicting Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu with swastikas. Comparing Israel to the Nazi regime is considered a blatantly anti-Semitic act.

Rauch stated that the posts contained "anti-Semitic content." She admitted that the Netanyahu photo with swastikas "hadn't been given enough attention." However, it's clear from her statement that Rauch intends to continue as university president.
