The public prosecutor's office seeks professionals skilled in handling data. - Did the Porsche lead to the deadly collision?
Observers claimed to have seen a passing incident between a quad bike and a car on the night in question. The authorities had been searching for the car and its owner for days.
Eventually, they had their first breakthrough. The police recently visited a man from Bielefeld, seized his high-performance Porsche 911 convertible, and took his cell phone. The public prosecutor's office considers the Porsche owner a suspect in the case.
However, it is challenging to determine if he was directly responsible for the quad rider's death. There were no obvious signs of the accident on the vehicle.
Either it was an illegal race between the quad rider and the Porsche, or an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver.
Gathering data from the car may reveal the driver's identity
About 80 data records - like route, speed, braking movements, or acceleration - can be stored in a car's on-board system and can also be accessed later. A cell phone connecting to a car's system could potentially point to the individual who was driving the vehicle.
Now, the public prosecutor's office in Bielefeld is attempting to unlock the car's electronic systems. However, they need assistance from the car manufacturer, Porsche AG, to access the sports car's data.
Although they have made several requests, the public prosecution office is still waiting for a reply from Porsche AG to obtain the necessary information and solve the tragic incident involving Lennard.
