Shocking declaration. - DFB talent won't feature in BVB's Wembley clash.
On a Thursday, the duo of Robert Andrich (age 29) and Jonathan Tah (age 28) of Bayer Leverkusen held a press conference in the training camp at Blankenhain. Their conversation also touched upon the upcoming Champions League finale.
Saturday marks a pivotal moment for two teams, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, as they face off against each other in a match that will determine who bags the Champions League title. For Dortmund, this would be their first triumph since the year 1997.
Noteworthy is the fact that two German national team players, Antonio Rüdiger (age 31) and Toni Kroos (age 34), respectively play for Real Madrid and Dortmund.
Andrich, the midfielder, shared his thoughts on the impending game, albeit in a rather lighthearted manner. He declared, "This is a hard question now. We have two players on each side, so you can't pick one. It's tough. You can say you support the German team as a German. But I feel it's going to be a tight match, and in the end, I'm rooting for Real."
The humorous remark elicited laughter from the press and his teammate, Tah.
Tah, the center-back, took a more politically correct stance with his viewpoint. He stated, "Both teams have earned a spot in the final. Let the better team take home the title."
Andrich's preference for Madrid might stem from a close connection. Kroos, his national team midfield partner, is one of the key players for the Royals. With him nearing his retirement after the upcoming home Euro Championship, he could potentially end his career with his sixth Champions League title and one European Championship title.
These two are predicted to form the central midfield of the German team in the forthcoming European Championship.
