Bayer CEO Carro's Announcement - Desiring to confront Bavaria
Following their victory in the cup final, Bayer Leverkusen has its sights set on claiming more titles next season. At the "Final Party" in the "Club Theater Berlin" on the evening after triumphing over Lautern (1:0), Carro discussed the team's aspirations for the upcoming campaign.
Carro elaborates on...
... Bayer as persistent rivals to Bayern: "Off their history, they're already the leading team in Germany. We aim to at least match them."
... the objective for the incoming campaign: "Our target is to remain in the running for titles until the last minute. You could also reach the final and lose. Merely reaching the final is also a triumph. Our aim for next season is to stay toward the top of the league as long as possible, make progress in the cup, and in the Champions League to demonstrate that we belong on a high level."
... the recently concluded season: "A great deal of effort was put into the two titles. Several judgments were made that seemed to be correct. We're extremely pleased, yet we must maintain this level."
... the unique winner's day: "This concludes a remarkable season. Nearly a flawless season, we've only lost one game. 52 out of 53 games without loss is extraordinary, winning the trophy for the first time in history is exceptional. Winning the final in Berlin is always special. Winning it is the icing on the cake for the season."
... the revelries on Saturday night and the stadium celebration on Sunday: "Tonight we'll celebrate first, tomorrow it's already happening. There are numerous activities here. Over 1000 people are in attendance. Family, friends, social committee. We'll revel until our bodies no longer can."
And celebrate this historic season one more time.
