Mannheim: New Developments - Deadly police intervention in Mannheim.

Last Tuesday, at the University of Mannheim, a 31-year-old man with a machete was injured by police during an operation. This incident happened a week ago, and the man later died from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The preliminary autopsy results were shared by the State Criminal Police Office and the Mannheim public prosecutor's office on Tuesday. They revealed that the man was no stranger to the cops; he had a criminal past and was suspected of trying to stab someone with a knife in April 2022. Unfortunately, the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence.

During this recent incident, the man was caught sticking stickers to various objects around the university and trying to distribute some in lecture halls. When another man tried to speak to him, the 31-year-old slapped him in the face. Police then rushed in and shot him, resulting in his hospitalization. Tragically, the man didn't make it and passed away from his injuries.

The authorities have shared a statement regarding the incident.
