A video circulates online, depicting the event. It is claimed to display Huybrechts lying beside a stadium shuttle, pressing his injured shoulder.
The horrendous event allegedly occurred on a Thursday, following Royal Antwerp's cup final against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (end score 0:1).
Huybrechts and his mate Kevin Belmans were targeted by a gang of youngsters on their way to the fan bus.
Belmans was subjected to the attack first and had a motorcycle helmet on.
Huybrechts attempted to escape - but unsuccessfully ...
As he tried dodging away, the Belgian was tackled down, and the cowardly attackers stomped on the individual lying on the terrain various times.
The upshot: a double clavicle fracture on the side of his throwing arm for Huybrechts. The surgery is set for this coming Friday. It is currently unknown how long he will remain inactive.
