Final match played at home - Dardai: "We crave scoringfrenzy"
Pushing it to the finish at Hertha BSC
Saturday's home match against Kaiserslautern (1pm) holds no sporting importance. What is Pal Dardai's ultimate goal after missing out on promotion?
In regard to personnel, Dardai won't be giving out any extra playing time as gifts to players. He states, "That wouldn't be right. We're sending out the best team. We can make some changes on the last day." On May 19, Hertha will play Osnabrück, who have already been relegated.
Linus Gechter (20), a home-grown talent, will get a chance to play in defense. Gechter recently expressed his frustration at not receiving enough playing time and refused contract extension talks early on.
The team will sport a special jersey with horizontal stripes as a tribute to the promotion years in the 90s. There are many activities planned around the stadium as well.
Approximately 60,000 spectators are expected to attend. Dardai says, "Who would have guessed this after the first three games? The team's showing great team spirit. Fans are noticing this and they're excited to come watch us. I hope Tabakovic scores."
Haris Tabakovic (29), Hertha striker, could become the top scorer in the 2nd division with 21 goals at the moment. He's also quite goal-hungry.
