This tutor is known as WAU. - Dachshund sporting a down jacket for handball
Nils Kretschmer, a 31-year-old handball player with a massive following of 421,000 Instagram fans, is getting ready to depart from his second-division team, HC Elbflorenz, after a nine-year stint in Dresden. Known as Germany's biggest handball influencer, he frequently uploads reels that catch the attention of millions of users. Recently, Kretschmer has shown his affection for animals, too.
This Handball Pro's Ultimate Super Fan Is His Dachshund, Lucy
Kretschmer adores handball most but also doubles as an influencer and a doting dog owner to Lucy. Lucy just turned 5 this year, and she and Nils have been inseparable for the past four years, enjoying her company in his Dresden flat. Lucy's coat is brown, straight, and quite short, with cute floppy ears. She's a dwarf dachshund.
Kretschmer laughs, "I always jokingly tell Lucy that I make money by playing ball. While he prepares to join former champions TV Großwallstadt next month on a three-year contract, he wants to pamper his Lucy with his handball earnings. Lucy's wardrobe includes a dachshund down jacket perfect for the colder months!
Kretschmer's fondness for animals exceeds just Lucy. In his spare time, he frequently babysits his friends' dachshunds, including Abby—a black dachshund bitch. This often leaves onlookers smiling as they spot the towering Kretschmer out and about in Dresden's city center.
Kretschmer laughed, "I can also go running with Lucy. She can cover six kilometers, but after that, she's had enough. It's a hilarious sight when I run alongside her; me, a giant, with a tiny dog."
Kretschmer will remain emotionally attached to HC Elbflorenz, "It was the most difficult choice I'd ever had to make. I've spent a third of my life living in Dresden."
