Petr Pavel at hospital - Czech Principal Injured in Motorcycle Mishap
The injuries sustained by President Pavel aren't severe, according to a statement from his office. He'll stay at the Prague Military University Hospital for observation until further notice.
His representative, Vit Kolar, said later on public television that Pavel will be in the hospital for "a few days," which won't cause any major disturbance in his schedule. We're waiting to see if the president will be prepared for a foreign trip scheduled for next week.
Czech news outlets claim that Pavel was involved in an incident on a closed racetrack, so the police won't be investigating the accident. Pavel is well-known for his love of motorcycles and currently rides a BMW R1200 GS.
Not long after assuming office in March 2023, he went to Germany on a bike for a meet-and-greet. And over the summer, he faced some controversy when the media shared photographs of him motoring around without a helmet.
