The previous weekend in Hamm(NRW), the sidewalk at the city's bustling crossroads was still splattered with blood from a horrific attack. The perpetrator remained untraced by authorities.
Around 9:10 a.m., a man aged 49 was waiting for the green light on his bicycle at an intersection by the bus station when suddenly and unexpectedly, he was attacked by a stranger. A police officer reported, "The unknown individual pierced his face with a knife."
Witnesses administered first aid and called emergency services. Within minutes, ambulances and police cars arrived, transferring the cyclist to the emergency room. His injuries led to a lengthy hospital stay. Despite the efforts of the police, the assailant's whereabouts remained unknown. CID officers cordoned off the scene, preserving evidence. A small kitchen knife with a wooden handle, suspected to be the murder weapon, was also found at the location.

The victim was critically injured, having endured numerous serious cuts across his upper body, believed to have been inflicted with a hazardous object. The man from Oer-Erkenschwick was rushed to the hospital.
