Imported box arrived from China - Customs officials find hazardous toy goo.

Hamburg Customs Officers Prevent Health Threat

In Febuary, Hamburg customs officials found and seized 480 "Slime production kits for children" from a China-bound container, later destroyed. The kits should not have held more than 300 mg/kg of boron to ensure safety. However, some had 826 mg/kg of the dangerous substance.

"The components used for creating the slime exceeded the legal limit for boron almost three times, which could cause diarrhea or vomiting if ingested in high concentrations. Boron is typically used in detergents, ceramics, and pesticides, so the product shouldn't have been dangerous if within the safe limit." - Kristina Severon, Press Officer at the Hamburg Central Customs Office.

The dangers associated with boron are absorbed through the skin, making it essential for children to avoid any contact with these harmful substances.
