Possible replacement for Tim Cook - Could this individual represent Apple's future?

Tim Cook is currently leading the company founded in 1976. In 2011, he officially took over the CEO role from Apple's founder, Steve Jobs (RIP 2011), who was already ill at the time. Cook is turning 64 in November. According to Bloomberg, John Ternus, a possible successor, is under consideration internally.

"Tim has a lot of faith in him"

Who is John Ternus? He's been with Apple since 2001. Currently, Ternus holds the position of Vice President of Hardware Development for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AirPods since 2013. He earned his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania (USA). It's highly likely that Ternus will replace Cook, as reported by Bloomberg, citing several sources familiar with Apple's internal processes.

Recently, Ternus has been making more public appearances, including a TV interview about Apple's expanding chip business. This increased visibility is seen as a sign that his leadership prowess has been tested.

In addition, the insiders at Bloomberg also note, "Tim has a lot of faith in him." They add, "He has many of the same leadership qualities as Tim."

Supporters within the company

Another noteworthy factor is that Eddy Cue (59) has been advocating for Ternus within Apple's management. Cue has been with the company since 1989 and oversees the entire range of Apple services, including Apple Music, Apple News, and Apple Pay. He's considered a confidant of Tim Cook.

Experts claim that when Cue recommends a personnel decision, it carries added significance. No executive at Apple is more immersed in the company's processes than Cue. Tim Cook promoted Cue in September 2011 as one of his first official acts in the CEO role.

The future Apple CEO might have to wait a bit longer. According to Bloomberg, Cook intends to stay in the position for at least the next three years.
