Achieving 14 and 15 goals for the current season - Could Beier be making his way towards the European Championship through gunfire?
Can we expect Beier to play in the European Championships soon?
Beier managed to score two goals in this match (7th and 44th minutes), increasing his overall season count to 15. Might he have scored his way into the national team for the European Championships? National coach Julian Nagelsmann (36 years old) will announce the European Championship squad on May 16.
Clearly, out of all the striker prospects for the German national team, only Undav has scored more goals this season than Beier (18). He currently holds fifth place in the Bundesliga for top goal scorers.
Meanwhile, Beier wasn't the only hard-working striker for Hoffenheim. Ihlas Bebou also found the back of the net twice, with one goal early on (2nd minute) and another later in the game (51st minute).
Kaderabek (22nd minute) and Kabak (26th) added to Hoffenheim's goal haul.
Darmstadt, however, had difficulty responding. They ran less, shot less, and committed fewer fouls. In the 90+2nd minute, Seydel attempted a consolation goal for the relegated team, but it was called off due to his leg being too high.
With this victory, Hoffenheim kept their hopes alive for Europe. They surpassed SC Freiburg in seventh place in the Conference League, and qualification for the Europa League isn't out of the question either. Eintracht Frankfurt (6th place) are merely three points ahead of Sinsheim.
