Crass remarks on "Clash of television personalities" - Contender is critical towards more experienced female opponents.
Silva Gonzales, the co-founder of "Hot Banditoz," sparked a controversy on Wednesday with a rude remark about a few of his fellow contestants. The reason for this: the group of participants was too old for his taste.
In addition to several young reality stars, some more seasoned celebrities like Annemie Herren (60), sister of Willi Herren (45), and Lilo von Kiesenwetter (70) brought diversity to the show. However, this didn't sit well with macho Silva.
During the show, he made fun of the two newcomers, saying, "I didn't anticipate that another mature, older lady, who is now in the autumn of her life and past her prime, would enter the hall."
Gonzales wasn't done there. He went on to make some questionable comments. "It feels like working in an old people's home," said the singer, who is actually older than two of the contestants.
In 2013, he had also tried his luck in the jungle camp and was the first to be eliminated. It looks like he might not last much longer in this season either. By making disrespectful remarks, Gonzales pushed himself into the background. "I wanted to compete with the young ones, with the wild and young ones," he complained. "I'm not feeling it."
However, the audience is not feeling it either. On HIM!, viewers are outraged by X's behavior. One thing is clear: It's not the two ladies who shouldn't be there, but Silva.
In fact, even on the show, his comments didn't go over well. Calvin Kleinen (32) voiced his opinion in "Die Stunde der Wahrheit," saying, "When our new arrivals came, a few old people's home jokes were made - I thought that was inappropriate."
And Silva? He later denied ever making those comments.
