Beware of Salmonella threat. - Consuming wild herbs could result in severe diarrhea.

Lebensmittelwarnung.de reports that a batch of garlic with the number 0012882157 tested positive for Salmonella. This prompted manufacturer Nova Taste to issue a recall as a precautionary measure for customer safety.

The manufacturer, Nova Taste of Freilassing, Bavaria, conducted over 400 inspections after the initial discovery, with all results coming back negative, but they still decided to recall the batch. Customers are encouraged to return the product even without a cash register receipt.

Lebensmittelwarnung.de explains that a Salmonella infection typically presents with diarrhea, abdominal pain, and sometimes vomiting and mild fever about a few days after one contracts the bacteria. In most cases, the symptoms resolve on their own and are not life-threatening, but for vulnerable groups like infants, young children, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems, the infection can be more severe. If you consumed the affected product and are experiencing more severe or persistent symptoms, seek medical attention and mention the possibility of a Salmonella infection.
