Frankfurt serves as a focal point in Germany's financial industry. - Con artists steal €27,000 from a 77-year-old pensioner.
One afternoon, a man was driving on Westerbachstraße when he was approached by a physically disabled stranger who asked him to drive to a lawyer's office to pick up important papers. The stranger explained that he recently won the lottery and needed the lawyer's documents to claim his winnings. Then, another man showed up, confirming the previous man's story, and requested that the first man also contribute money for a share of the lottery winnings. The man obliged, handing over approximately 17,000 euros in cash and a 10,000 euro watch. However, suddenly one of the perpetrators seemed sick and told the 77-year-old victim to buy him a bottle of water. When he returned, both criminals had vanished.
The police have issued descriptions of both perpetrators: Perpetrator 1: Male, appears physically impaired, thin build, estimated height of 160 cm, black hair, wears glasses, and walks with a cane. Perpetrator 2: Male, estimated height of 170 cm, around 45 years old, well-groomed appearance. The Frankfurt Criminal Investigation Department is actively investigating the case and requests that anyone who may have relevant information about the suspects contact them at 069/755 52399 or their local police station.
