Paris, rather than Cologne, is the place. - Cologne's brave teen Downs (19) makes summer plans.

Everyone in Cologne is buzzing about Damion Downs (19) and his miraculous 92nd-minute save. This was only his second career goal, and oh what an important one it was!

But it wasn't at PSG, it was at the Olympic Games!

The man with the Rasta curls who's giving everyone in Cologne renewed hope is Damion Downs.

Originally from Werneck, Bavaria, he also has American citizenship through his father. He has a contract with Cologne until 2026, with a market value around one million euros.

Downs is Cologne's most promising striker, but this season he's mostly played in the regional league (19 games, 7 goals). He joined FC in 2020 and worked his way into the professional team from the youth team.

Cologne's coach, Schultz, speaks highly of him: "He's come a long way in the past few weeks and is a key part of our plans for the future."

His debut was back in September during the 1-2 loss to Bremen. His first Bundesliga goal made Cologne fans happy - he scored as a substitute in the 3-3 draw against Gladbach in March.

Damion Downs was nominated for the US national team in April 2022, but couldn't play due to an injury. His mom, Tanja, has her own podcast titled "My Son. The Professional?".

He's headed to the Olympic Games in Paris!
