Hansa clarifies its vessel - Coach Selimbegovic departs following team's demotion
Amir Shapourzadeh, the newly appointed Director of Professional Football at FC Hansa Rostock, discussed the team's coaching staff with the Management and Supervisory Board and decided against keeping their Bosnian manager.
In his statement, Shapourzadeh expressed his high regard for Mersad, both professionally and personally, but after extensive deliberations, they felt a new spark and a fresh start in the coaching team was necessary for their journey into the 3rd division.
Besides Mersad, whose contract only covered the 2nd division, assistant coaches Markus Palionis and Nicolas Masetzky, along with athletics coach David Lechner, would also have to depart. Dirk Orlishausen, the goalkeeping coach, whose contract runs until 2027, will remain part of the team.
With these anticipated staffing changes, FC Hansa Rostock is initiating their fresh beginning in the 3rd division.
Shapourzadeh, who will officially be introduced in the coming days, shared his plans, stating, "We're going to start talking to potential candidates right away so we can introduce our new head coach as soon as possible. We'll work hand in hand to build a well-rounded team for the upcoming season."
