Opposing HSV - Club Keeper Reichert's Top Test Score

Following their demotion, FCN coach Cristian Fiél (44) has announced his intention to "attempt something new." The primary focus is on the goalkeeper position.FCN has been grooming Jan Reichert (22) to showcase his skills with professional football and on the mainstage ever since.

Essentially, will Reichert compete against HSV at this point?

At Valznerweiher, the Schweinfurt native, who has played for the club for three years (on a free transfer from Schweinfurt 05), is highly regarded. The higher-ups at FCN maintain that Reichert's future lies between the posts, particularly.

The game in Hamburg will also serve as a major litmus test for Reichert. Carl Klaus (30), the current first-choice goalkeeper, has yet to renew his expired contract with FCN. Similarly, veteran Christian Mathenia (contract until 2026), replaced by Klaus, makes it challenging for the team to plan for the future. There are currently no plans to keep Klaus or Mathenia at FCN.

Is it now Reichert's time to shine?

This season, he played in the Regionalliga for Nuremberg II, keeping nine clean sheets in his 25 appearances. Twice, he was a substitute goalkeeper in the professional 2nd division team.

Reichert is considered a contemporary goalkeeper known for his prowess with the ball. At 1.91 meters tall, he's quite imposing in the box, too.

Forkel's first time with the pros

Entering the pro leagues!

For the first time, U19 striker Dustin Forkel (19) trained with Cristian Fiél (44) on Wednesdays. This season, Forkel has earned a reputation with the U19s and the regional league team. In 15 matches in the junior Bundesliga, he netted 12 goals and dished out 7 assists. In the U23s, he managed to score five goals in ten games.

Did he earn this stepping stone with his impressive performances?

Fiél (44): "We were just missing a player for the type of training we wanted to do. It was a good match for him to fit in. Don't forget, it's also an opportunity for us to observe a young man like that in the group."

If he continues to play at this rate, he'll definitely be allowed back.
