Circa owner Stevens to give away two seats on private jet for NFC Championship game
Circa founder Derek Stevens is a savvy marketer and is using his vast knowledge of customer acquisition to capitalize on his private jet and bettors' enthusiasm for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
Stevens owns D and Golden Gate Airport in downtown Las Vegas and gave away two seats on his private jet at Circa Sportsbook's "Huddle Up at Overhang" rally Saturday night. Place a sports bet or wager $100 on a game while wearing Detroit Lions or San Francisco 49ers apparel to qualify. To enjoy the opportunity to ride on the jet, winner must be present.
Proprietary betting is becoming increasingly popular among bettors and sportsbooks. These bets expand bettors’ betting menu and provide customers with options beyond traditional pre-match betting, such as side bets and total bets. Additionally, prop betting can be more team or player focused than traditional sports betting.
Operators like prop betting because the expanded menu, which mainly includes longer odds, is attractive to bettors and provides the opportunity to increase revenue. Prop betting also helps to remain efficient in the emerging in-game or live betting market.
San Francisco Excursions
Stevens is a Michigan native and his support for the Wolverines and the rest of the Gloves is well-documented.
That includes the Lions — the long-moribund franchise that captures the hearts of NFL fans across the country. Outside of California's Bay Area, of course. San Francisco is a seven-point favorite heading into Sunday's game. It will be a quick trip for the two people lucky enough to get seats on Stevens' plane.
You don’t have to pack your bags, Stevens said at Circa last night."We leave Sunday morning and come back Sunday night." 15 hours drive. "
This isn't the first time Stevens has used air travel as a customer acquisition tool. In May 2020, just days before Las Vegas casino hotels reopened following the coronavirus lockdown imposed by then-Gov. Steve Sisolak (D-NV), Circa owner committed to the purchase 1,000 tickets from various airlines to bring travelers back to Sin City. Proving this to be a selfless act, the recipients of these tickets do not need to stay at Circa, D or Golden Gate.
Other prices
There's no denying the appeal of private air travel, even if it's just a quick trip from Las Vegas to San Francisco and back. However, attendees of Saturday night's "Huddle Up at Overhang" pep rally will have a chance to win other attractive prizes if they don't win a seat on Stevens' plane.
These include cabanas and lounge chairs at Circa’s famous Stadium Swim, or dinner at Circa’s flagship restaurant, Barry’s Downtown Prime.
As for the economics of the NFC Championship Game, Stevens told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that as of today, his Lions are the best closer in the Circa Sports NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl. That could change if the Lions get a close matchup with the 49ers in this important game.
