Chris Finch, head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, sustained injuries during a mid-game confrontation with a player.

Finch experienced a rupture in his right patellar tendon, the tissue connecting the kneecap to the shinbone, according to a spokesperson for the team.

The incident took place with approximately two minutes remaining in the match. Conley, who was manhandled by Suns guard Devin Booker while sprinting towards the court, subsequently collided with the 54-year-old Finch, standing near the scorer's table. Finch fell to the ground.

Members of the Timberwolves committee hurried to assist and comfort Finch, providing him with aid as he was assisted to the locker room by personnel. The coaching staff member was met with a warm reception from the fans, who stood and applauded as he departed the court. Nori, an assistant coach, concluded the game in his stead.

The triumph over the Suns, with the final score being 122-116, marked Minnesota's initial NBA playoffs series victory since 2004 and their first-ever sweep.

Nori relayed to reporters that Finch sustained an injury to his lower leg.

"The entire team, including myself, gathered in the medical room, and he’s in excellent spirits, as is the rest of the group," Nori informed reporters.

Edwards, the Minnesota all-star guard, was eager to learn about his coach's condition after speaking to reporters.

"That's the Coach of the Year," Edwards said. "I hate to see someone like that go down like that."

Finch, currently in his fourth year as the head coach of the Timberwolves, concluded third in the Coach of the Year award voting earlier in the day. He produced a 56-26 season record for the team, the franchise's second-best win count.
