Mischievous TV Show Targets CDU Head - Charlotte Merz assumes the role of "heute show" reporter.
Today, "heute show" reporter Lutz van der Horst (48) tried to poke fun at CDU leader Friedrich Merz (68). However, van der Horst didn't anticipate his wife Charlotte (63) standing up for her husband!
During a Christian Democrats' party conference, van der Horst, dressed in high-water pants, Adilettes, and white socks, aimed to make light of German cultural norms. After a string of amusing jokes, the ZDF report captures the comedian pursuing Merz's entourage.

The cheeky television ambush unfolds as follows
Van der Horst: "Mr. Merz, Leitkultur, right? That's about answering when someone asks you something, isn't it?" Friedrich Merz clarifies, and while van der Horst calls Merz a "great pasha" under his breath, Charlotte Merz (63) steps in. With a smile, she shoves the microphone in van der Horst's face.
Charlotte Merz: "A leading culture means asking whether you want to give an answer first." Van der Horst responds, "But when I ask him, he says no."
The Merzes have been married for 43 years.
