Train tracks - Central Hesse and Rhine-Main's Landesbahn will soon have new trains.

The Hessische Landesbahn (HLB) will introduce new trains along its routes in Central Hesse and the Rhine-Main area. A total of 32 trains from the French railway vehicle manufacturer Alstom are set to operate on the lines between Treysa, Marburg, or Dillenburg, Giessen, and Frankfurt, as well as to Hanau.

HLB indicates that each vehicle can accommodate 200 to 280 passengers. By autumn, there will be space for up to 840 passengers per train during peak times. The company said, "This means that the new features proposed and ordered by the Rhine-Main Transport Association, such as Wi-Fi and added seating capacity, will be progressively introduced." The train's frequency will also increase in December. "From then on, the new RB37 line will supplement the existing service between Giessen and Frankfurt every two hours." They have also improved the comfort with more legroom, large multi-purpose areas, and increased power sockets.

According to Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund Managing Director Knut Ringat, the combination of more trips, new comfortable trains, and additional space is the key to attracting more passengers. HLB Managing Director Veit Salzmann added, "Our commuters now have access to top-notch amenities and free Wi-Fi, for instance."
