Hörstel and Riesenbeck: Local News Update - Cemetery adornments have been stolen.
At the Ludgeristrasse cemetery in Hörstel, there have been a total of eight reports filed in recent weeks, while at the Kalixtusstrasse cemetery in Riesenbeck, five reports were received. The majority of these cases involved stolen grave lamps or metal/bronze decorations.
The crimes took place with several days in between, but there was one incident when a silver-colored metal tree of life, about 15-20 centimeters in size, was stolen from Ludgeristrasse cemetery at some point between 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m., on May 4th.
The authorities are currently investigating these cases and seeking any information possible. Anyone who may have observed something unusual or who notices anything suspicious in the future is encouraged to contact the Rheine police at 05971/938-4215.
