Casino on Las Vegas Strip Sued for Negligence in Car Theft Incident Involving Valet Service
A Cali duo anticipated a break from routine when they touched down at Paris Las Vegas on June 24, 2022, and entrusted their whip to a valet employee.
The following morn, Jennifer Marq caught wind of her car being missing when she visited the valet to reclaim her Range Rover. However, it appeared someone else had borrowed it at 23:13 on the previous Friday, through a ticket plundered from Marq's digs.
Now, Marq's taking Paris Las Vegas to court, alleging gross negligence. As stated in her complaint, filed in Clark County District Court on the 20th, the Caesars Entertainment location overlooked safety protocols when the valet worker neglected to confirm the ticket owner's identity before letting go of Marq's ride.
"I hope something can be sorted out, so no one else has to endure this ordeal," Marq shared with KLAS-TV/Las Vegas. "I feel violated."
Ultimately, Marq managed to track down her Range Rover via an app, parked outside Boulder Station Hotel and Casino. The license plate had been swapped for a fake one, but thankfully, the vehicle was scratch-free—albeit minus her personal docs and house keys.
Marq disclosed to KLAS that law enforcement took a statement but refused to make any arrests since her automobile wasn't part of any criminal activity.
In her lawsuit, Marq demands compensation for losses and fee reimbursement for her legal representation.
Should the judge be in Marq's corner, this occurrence could nudge Strip hotels to reconsider requiring ID checks for car pick-up and drop-offs at their valet services.
