Casino crime summary: Wisconsin jackpot winner robbed

A woman with thousands of dollars in her wallet was "robbed" outside a Wisconsin casino early Monday.

When she and her husband returned to the car, the lone robber snatched her bag.

On New Year's Eve, the couple was at Ho-Chunk Casino in Madison, where she won an undisclosed amount of money. The couple left the house around 2am

While they were outside, a man approached them and asked for a ride, Wisconsin television station WKOW reported.

The couple refused to take him with them. He then grabbed his handbag and ran.

When Madison Police Department (MPD) officers arrived, the suspect had left the area.

Earlier this week, police department officers continued to search for the robbers. Local news reports did not give any description, but police may have received a description of the robber from the victim. Police may also have viewed surveillance footage to see the suspect.

No victims appeared to be injured during the robbery.

Woman embezzled $15,000 from casino

Two South Dakota women are scheduled to appear in court this week for allegedly stealing about $15,000 from a local casino.

They use the loot to rescue a man from prison. Every woman is with him.

According to South Dakota television station KELO, 28-year-old Whitney Christopherson and 26-year-old Izabella Powell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, allegedly fled Sioux Falls on August 4. Money was stolen from Happy Jacks Casino in Falls.

After the corruption, the two drove to the prison to bail him out.

Police recently arrested her. Both men were being held in the Minnehaha County Jail earlier this week.

Christopherson worked at the playground. Powell was with her during the alleged crimes.

Kristofferson claimed during a conversation with local police that she only stole the money after being threatened, KELO reported.

Casino visitors stole cash

A woman is behind bars this week after allegedly stealing $500 from the Rivers Casino Pittsburgh hotel.

Dominique Johnson, 32, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was initially arrested by Pennsylvania State Police on a burglary charge, Pittsburgh television station WPXI reported.

She is said to have stolen cash from the Landing Hotel next to the casino.

Police identified Johnson as the suspect after viewing surveillance video of the burglary.

Johnson was later arrested on drug charges and police found drug paraphernalia in her possession, including three glass devices used to consume drugs. Police said they had drug residue on them.

The pipes were packed into cigarette boxes and then carried in fanny packs.

Police also ran her name on a computer and discovered she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court. She was also charged for this.

Johnson is being held at the Allegheny County Jail. Her case has been transferred to the prosecutor's office.
