Casino crime summary: San Martin Casino robbed by three men

Three masked robbers robbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the Portupecöy Casino in St. Maarten on Thursday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., three people entered the playground and pulled out guns. They seized the loot and fled, possibly to the French side of St. Maarten. They were wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack, local newspaper the Daily Herald reported.

Local police on the Caribbean island searched the crime scene for evidence and spoke to witnesses. No arrests had been made as of Friday.

No one is believed to have been injured in the robbery.

Bally players accused of cheating

A man was charged with fraud after playing baccarat at Chicago's Bally's Casino on Sunday.

The suspect, Isaias Garcia-Martinez, was said to have been placing bets until the cards were dealt, Chicago TV station WFLD reported.

He won $5,000. When he returned to the casino on Tuesday, he was arrested by authorities. He is due to appear in a local court on Wednesday.

This is the first time a Chicago Bally's has been arrested for fraud since the temporary store opened on September 9, WFLD reports.

The deceased was found in the casino

Authorities discovered a body in a car at the Golden Country Casino Resort in California on Monday night.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office said the deceased person has been identified as Barry MacDonald, 66, of Palermo, California, California television station KNVN reported.

McDonald was located around 6:07 p.m. Properties located in Oroville, CA.

The local medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Casino players may face penalties

A man suspected of leaving a 5-year-old child in a car at Presque Isle Downs Casino in Pennsylvania has been banned from gambling venues in the state and could face criminal charges.

The unidentified man's name was placed on the state's involuntary exclusion list. Following a decision by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), he will not be able to return to state-owned casinos or other gaming venues in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The five-year-old was alone in the car while the man spent nearly half an hour trying his luck at the gaming tables at the casino, Pennsylvania TV station WICU reported.

When the child was in the car, the outside temperature was 30 degrees. There is no information yet on whether the child was injured due to the heat.

The PGCB prohibits children from being left unattended in casino vehicles while adults are entering gaming facilities.
