Casino crime summary: Player damages elevator and gets trapped inside

This month, a 45-year-old man was arrested for allegedly vandalizing an elevator at the Hollywood Casino in Pennsylvania at Pennsylvania National Raceway.

On December 9, an unnamed resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania lost money while visiting a casino and became angry.

In a fit of rage, he got into the elevator and kicked the door repeatedly. The elevator got stuck between floors, trapping him until firefighters in Grantville, Pennsylvania, rescued him, Pennsylvania television station WHTM reported.

Authorities did not immediately announce the charges against him.

Banning Casino Visitors from Searching for Jeeps

A guest who was banned for life from Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino then allegedly broke into a vehicle at the hotel and stole several items.

On Dec. 9, Christopher Motta, 27, of Pittsburgh, was permanently banned from the gaming facility due to a previous theft, Pennsylvania station WPXI reported.

Mota and the second man were ordered off the casino floor. Police took them to the lobby, but instead of leaving the building, the pair went to the casino's fourth-floor parking lot, where Motta spotted a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Authorities say he tried to pull his jacket over his face, but surveillance cameras captured him breaking into the vehicle. The car was searched and several items were seized, including a loaded firearm, police added.

When police approached him in the garage, Motta attempted to hide the stolen items under another vehicle. When he was arrested, police found a loaded gun, holster and other items stolen from the Jeep during a search of the fourth floor of the parking lot.

Mota was charged with Possession of a Firearm, Unlicensed Carrying of a Firearm, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Tampering/Forgery with Physical Evidence, Receiving Stolen Property, Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot, and disorderly conduct, according to WPXI.

His case has been transferred to the local prosecutor's office.
