Casino crime summary: Pedestrian hit and killed by SUV at Harrah's Casino in Indiana

An elderly man was struck and killed by a car while walking in the parking lot of the Hallahoosier Park Casino in Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday night.

Steven Rubenstein, 71, of Fishers, Indiana, was seriously injured at 7:30 p.m. collision, Indianapolis-based WXIN-TV reported. He died a short time later in an Indianapolis hospital.

Anderson Police Department officers continued to investigate the circumstances of the crash earlier this week. The department's incident team is leading the investigation. Officers are also trying to obtain statements from witnesses who may have seen the incident.

As of Tuesday, it was unclear whether the driver, a 56-year-old woman from Anderson, 43 miles northeast of Indianapolis, had been charged or was cooperating with police. The driver was not injured following the collision with Rubinstein, according to authorities.

No information about Rubinstein was provided and no burial arrangements were announced.

MOTORCYCLE THEFT

A St. Louis, Missouri, man was charged Sunday for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from a River City, Missouri, casino on Christmas Eve. Michael Saal, 39, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, St. Louis television station KMO reported.

The theft was reported to local police shortly before 5 p.m. On December 24, when the motorcycle owner arrived at the place where the motorcycle was parked, he found that the motorcycle was missing.

Police reviewed surveillance video from the property, which showed the suspect taking photos of the vehicle multiple times. Just an hour later, a silver truck carrying two passengers pulled up to the spot next to the motorcycle.

A suspect wearing a black ski mask secured the tow strap to the motorcycle. The truck driver then drove away with the motorcycle in tow.

Police identified Sal as the truck driver. They also said he admitted to the crime, KMO reported. He was arraigned on Sunday and remained in custody earlier this week. His bail was set at $300,000.

Missing man last seen at casino

Police are still searching for a missing man who was last seen at a Montana casino.

Roger Shelton, of Williston, North Dakota, was spotted at the Black Gold Casino in Roosevelt County on January 5. It is located near the North Dakota and Montana borders. Haven't seen him since.

Williams County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Ward said police conducted what is called a "forensic analysis" of Shelton's phone records, bank accounts and vehicle, North Dakota news outlet Minot Daily News reported. It's unclear whether the analysis revealed information about his current whereabouts.

Shelton's name was also entered into the national missing persons database.

It's unclear if Shelton's disappearance is suspicious or if police believe it may be a crime.
