☝️ It's been discovered that federal law enforcement received instructions on how to act around participants at the Christopher Street event.

The leaflet reads: "Use the same language they do. Use the names and pronouns they prefer for themselves." and "Never inquire about their 'true' name (deadname). The name they use to present themselves is their real name." (Note by the editor: Deadname is the former name of a trans person, which may still be on their ID and is their legal name).

Federal police officers were given this pocket card with rules of conduct during the Christopher Street Day operation in Hanover

Does this signify that police officers are now prohibited from seeking official names during this event?

Participants celebrate the CSD exuberantly

Robert Dvorak, spokesman for the Hanover Federal Police Inspectorate, explains: "We've given our officers these pocket cards to help them interact respectfully with LGBTQ individuals. The purpose is primarily to de-escalate situations. If we encounter someone named Claudio who prefers to be called Claudia, we would address them as Claudia during conversation. However, when gathering personal details, we make note of the name provided on their ID, which would be their legally recognized name."

Belit Onay (Greens, 2nd from left), Lord Mayor of Hanover, and Lower Saxony's Minister of Culture Julia Willie Hamburg (Greens, 4th from left) carry a banner with the inscription

Gregor Golland, deputy leader of the CDU parliamentary group in NRW: "This so-called 'woke' trend is creating a security issue. People need to be identifiable by their real name and gender. It's unacceptable that our society allows itself to be taken advantage of in this way. The law applies to everyone, including law enforcement."
