Caesars Palace Las Vegas Sees Arrest of a Prostitute Over Alleged Attempted Homicide
A woman who works as a sex worker remains detained in prison following her arrest for attempting murder. The incident occurred last week, when she attacked and robbed a man confined to a wheelchair at a room in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The 26-year-old, identified as Napria Wilson, was also charged with robbery and residential burglary for stealing approximately $6,000 from the man, according to the authorities.
When staff at the hotel arrived at the scene around 7 a.m., the victim was found on the floor, covered in blood and unable to move, as reported by KLAS, a local TV station. He was lying on his back between the two beds, making noises of distress and calling out for assistance, says the police.
The victim sustained several broken and fractured bones in his face, along with severe bruising all over his body. His eyes and hands were swollen as well. The bed sheets, furniture, and floor of the room were also stained with blood, reported KTNV, another Las Vegas television station.
The victim was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Officials had not provided an update on the man's condition as of last Friday. It was uncertain whether surgery would be required to treat his injured features.
The elderly man, estimated to be in his late 60s, struggled with mobility due to chronic disabilities and used a scooter. He had booked the room with Wilson after meeting her on the gaming floor of Caesars Palace.
Becoming a Victim of Deception
In the beginning, Wilson was paid $500 for her sexual services by the man. Wilson initially stayed in the room, but she demanded more money from him later. The man informed her that he had already given her the funds. This led to Wilson arguing with the man.
Wilson refused to relent and once more demanded the money. She eventually stole the man's wallet and left the room.
The LVMPD investigated the incident by searching the hotel for evidence and examining the surveillance video showing Wilson leaving the room. She then entered an elevator that took her to the ground floor, as seen in the video recording. She exited the hotel and hailed a taxi.
Wilson began vomiting after getting into the vehicle. In the police report, it states that "Wilson apologizes to the driver and tells him she will pay him extra to get her 'out of here' and appears to pass him a $100 bill from her purse." The taxi driver subsequently drove away, carrying Wilson as a passenger.
Recovery of the Suspect
Officers identified the perpetrator as Wilson by collaborating with the taxi company. Wilson was subsequently taken into custody. It is worth noting that she was arrested and held at the Clark County Detention Center on Wednesday.
The case file was submitted to the local prosecutors. Wilson has not yet entered a plea regarding the charges against her.
