Bochum engages in a battle with Düsseldorf. - Bundesliga relegation broadcasted live and free!

In 2024, following a 3:0 loss in the first leg of the relegation match, VfL Bochum is at risk of being demoted to the 2. Bundesliga, while Düsseldorf aims for promotion. The return game is scheduled for Monday. Typically, Bundesliga games are aired on pay-TV provider Sky and the streaming service DAZN. However, this time, the match can be viewed for free on television.

SAT.1, a free-to-air broadcaster, has acquired a package of live rights consisting of a total of nine games per season. This includes the Supercup, selected Bundesliga matches on the first, seventeenth, and eighteenth matchdays, and the game featuring the first team in 2. Bundesliga and the relegation match.

After their first leg defeat, Bochum's coach Heiko Butscher expressed, "The straw is now incredibly small. Of course, there is a certain emptiness now, but we owe it to the club and the fans to try everything on Monday."

Kevin Stöger, a midfielder for Bochum, agrees, "It sounds a bit ridiculous, but if Düsseldorf can score three goals here, why can't we do the same? We won't give up. We still believe in ourselves."

Düsseldorf's coach, Daniel Thioune, expressed, "There's still one more game left. We need to give everything for 90 minutes to achieve the best possible outcome. The first phase of relegation has left me satisfied with my team's performance."

Christos Tzolis, Düsseldorf's player, added, "Over the past 15 games, we've been undefeated. Our last defeat occurred in February in Paderborn. We're incredibly confident at the moment and demonstrated our capabilities today. We'll continue with the same determination on Monday."

The relegation match can be watched live on SAT.1, as well as ran.de and JOYN. Another option is following the battle for the Bundesliga. The match begins Monday evening at 8:30 pm in Düsseldorf.
