Brutal Nevada murder linked to prostitution
A murdered woman and a suspect charged in a recent violent death were both Las Vegas sex workers, according to police reports.
According to Las Vegas TV station KLAS, police sources said the 23-year-old victim, Marayna Rodgers, left Washington state on December 1 to work as a prostitute in Las Vegas. prostitute.
But on December 6, everything went wrong. Chance Comanche, 27, and another sex worker, Sakari Harnden, 19, allegedly kidnapped and killed Rogers.
Her body was found days later in a ditch in the desert in Henderson, Nevada. Her body is covered in stone.
Posing as a scam
According to police, the incident began when the Comanche staged a "ruse" to lure Rogers away from some friends.
Comanche allegedly "strangled" Rogers with an HDMI cable while they were in the back seat of a car parked in Henderson, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Harden is also said to have strangled her in the car.
On Dec. 5, just hours before the murder, Comanche texted Rogers and made her think he would pay $1,000 for sex. He was reportedly playing a basketball game at the Dollar Loans Center in Henderson.
After the murder, the Comanche left the M Resort in Henderson where he was staying during a visit to Nevada. Harden was in a Comanche hotel room.
It was also revealed that the Comanche allegedly asked a friend to commit the murder in exchange for $3,000. This person declined to participate.
Rogers' friends reported her missing on December 7, prompting police to launch an investigation.
Harden was arrested in Las Vegas on December 13. The Comanches were captured in California the next day. He did not object to extradition to Nevada to face charges. Both men have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Harden was arrested on an unrelated charge after allegedly stealing a Rolex watch.
Prior to his arrest, Comanche played for the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League.
Seeking Revenge
It was also reported this week that Harden wanted revenge after getting angry at Rodgers. According to KLAS, Rogers told others that Harden's friend Iosua Sataua, a rapper who goes by the name "EBK Lil Play," was involved in a murder.
KLAS quoted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) arrest report as saying, "Marana told others that Sakkari was insinuating that her boyfriend was involved in the murder, and Sakkari became upset."
Satava was arrested in March for a double murder in Stockton, California, where she allegedly shot two men, ages 29 and 24, CBS News reported. Charges remain pending.
