Britney Spears Experiences Slap at a Las Vegas Resort
Britney Spears was hoping to get a selfie with Victor Wembanyama, the highly anticipated NBA player. However, she ended up receiving a hand to the face.
As per TMZ, which published the report, the scenario unfolded at the restaurant Catch in the Aria Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, at around 8:30 pm on a Wednesday. Spears arrived with her husband Sam Ashari and two companions.
The same sight of Wembanyama, a 7-foot-3 French-born center for the San Antonio Spurs, passing them couldn't go unnoticed. He was in town to participate in the NBA Summer League contest at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Britney Takes A Blow
Spears, who is claimed to be a follower of Wembanyama, lightly tapped his right shoulder. This seemingly led to Spurs security chief Damian Smith either slapping her or pushing her hand away so strongly that it slapped her face.
TMZ stated that responding police officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reviewed footage from the venue's security cameras which indicated that Smith had shoved Spears' hand away with such force it hit her own face. Some accounts alleged Spears fell to the ground.
Even though Spears ate at her table, Smith later allegedly apologized for the event. Accepting the apology, she or one of her mates reportedly sort out a police report accusing him of battery.
Officers arrived at 11 pm, as mentioned by TMZ, and a criminal investigation is now underway that is "likely" to be given to the District Attorney, but this doesn't guarantee charges.
At this time, no arrests or citations have taken place.
Britney Spears' "Piece of Me" residency, which ran from 2013 to 2017 at Planet Hollywood, grabbed the third position on the list of highest-grossing Vegas performances, with a total revenue of $137M.
