Last call for morning people - Bremer SV is eager to succeed.
Prepare the coffee, pick the right one!
This Saturday, regional league team Bremer SV takes on Bremen league team SV Hemelingen in the Lotto Cup finals.
Despite being on a shoestring budget, Bremer SV managed to pull off an excellent final streak (putting up 16 points in the last 6 games) and saved themselves from relegation. They're aiming for the pot and a place in the DFB Cup now.
Ralf Voigt, sports director: "If we play up to our full potential, we'll take home the cup."
Underdog glory: Bremer SV sets its sights on the pot!
The underdogs of Hemelingen (playing in the 5th division) are in the championship match for the first time in half a century. In the league, they were only beaten by Werder's U23, but have been causing loads of headaches for the undefeated mega-champions (Werder Bremen, with 30 total wins in 30 games).
There's a lot riding on the cup for both teams. The first round of the cup granted a whopping €215,600 to each participant last year, with a strong possibility of similar payouts this season.
