The issue is connected to frustration in aircraft cabins. - Bochum's Emergency Strategy

VFL Bochum needs to score during their match against Bremen on Saturday (3:30pm/Sky) or else the situation in the relegation battle could become extremely dramatic.

This is Bochum's rescue plan!

» The club claims: The 0:5 loss against Leverkusen was more beneficial for the team's morale in the locker room than a 1:2 loss in the final moment would have been. Right now, we're in a positive, determined mood instead of feeling sad. There's no need for any drastic measures like a quick training camp or a team-bonding event at the moment.

» VFL Bochum's strategy to squeeze out every single percent: ruthless honesty, which has been missing for most of the season. In the past three weeks, a new attitude has emerged while trying to stay in the league - the sports leaders are bluntly discussing all key issues, including the ongoing contract situations of some players.

The idea: "Peace, joy, pancakes" hasn't kept anyone in the league. Instead, if necessary, anger should be harnessed to fuel the energy required to save the team. Coach Heiko Butscher (43) has started to criticize individual player mistakes in front of the team.

Impact: Since then, the team has won tight matches against Hoffenheim (3:2) and Union (4:3).

The last life-saving step is missing in Bremen! If that doesn't happen, VfL will have to rely on both Mainz and Union not surpassing them at the last minute.

★ Felix Passlack (25), who was sent off with a red card after only 15 minutes against Leverkusen, will definitely not be playing.

VFL informed in a press release: "The initial penalty request from the DFB Disciplinary Committee called for a two-match ban for Passlack. VFL didn't agree to this and argued for a reduction in the penalty, as in VFL's view there was no clear goalscoring opportunity thwarted. As a result, the ban was reduced to just one league match by the DFB Sport Court."

Luckily: Passlack should play in both games if VFL manages to reach the relegation playoffs against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
