Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" continues to inspire Christie Brinkley to move.
Online, people can't stop talking about a video where Brinkley is seen dancing happily to a Billy Joel song during his recent concert.
In this TikTok clip, the ex-model, who is now 70 years old, is seen moving to the rhythm with a big grin on her face while Joel, aged 74, performs. Two years before their 1985 wedding and the birth of their daughter Alexa Ray Joel, Brinkley had starred in Joel's music video for that song. They got divorced in 1994.
During an interview on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" in 2018, model Elle Macpherson admitted she had been dating Joel when he was penning the track, but they broke up soon after. Macpherson thought the song might have been inspired by "all the tall girls" due to Joel's preference for taller women.
Joel himself seemed to confirm this in "Billy Joel: The Definitive Biography" from 2014, stating that the song's original title was "Uptown Girls," but he later changed it to focus on one particular girl—Brinkley.
