Severe collision in Bensheim. - Biker (42) fatally struck by car driver's overlook.
Police reports that an accident happened around 4 pm. A car driver (57) didn't notice a motorcyclist (42) making a left turn onto Heidelberger Straße towards Heppenheim.
A Nissan car collided with the green motorcycle at the junction. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike due to the intense impact and landed on the road.
Numerous emergency services arrived at the accident site. A rescue helicopter also landed. Unfortunately, the 42-year-old's injuries were too severe, and he passed away at the scene of the accident.
The Nissan driver (57) emerged unharmed but experienced a shock. He needed an emergency counselor's assistance.
The B3 route was closed for several hours for the investigation and cleanup. The motorcycle and Nissan cars sustained significant damage. The police estimated the total cost of the damage to be 12,000 euros.
