Criminals abuse his positive reputation - Beware of a fraudulent scheme tied to Florian Silbereisen!
Criminals are trying to exploit the good reputation of actor and singer Florian Silbereisen (42) for financial gain.
Online Associate Pretends to be Silbereisen
An online friend claimed to be Florian in an attempt to catch the attention of a woman from Saxony.
The Görlitz police department explained that this individual exchanged several messages with the assumed celebrity, likely believing it could be the genuine article.
Fake Flori Requests 300 Euros
However, the fake Flori unexpectedly asked for a credit card worth 300 euros from the woman in Saxony, promising to refund her 50,000 euros afterward.
This request raised suspicions, as a high-earning ZDF star like Silbereisen would have no need for credit.
CID in Görlitz Probes Case
Last Wednesday, the woman visited the police station and informed them about the fake Silbereisen. The criminal investigation department in East Saxony took charge of the investigation.
Police spokeswoman Anne Wieland commented: "The woman was clever and even managed to recognize the deception. She immediately reported the incident."
Scammers Have Been Utilizing Celebrity Voices & Faces
Con artists are not just using famous people's names for their schemes; they're also using their voices and faces, as witnessed with acting icon Uschi Glas (80). Such an instance involved a supposedly miraculous treatment being marketed to unsuspecting victims.
Silbereisen on TV with Pop Show
By the way, you'll be able to see the actual Silbereisen on TV again. He's scheduled to appear as the captain of the Traumschiff on ZDF at 8:15 p.m. on June 23, 2024, with a re-aired Morocco episode.
Prior to that, flip on Ersten to see Silbereisen hosting the Schlagerboom Open Air. The show airs on June 8, and Silbereisen's guests will include Andrea Berg and Rainhard Fendrich. The show is captured in Kitzbühel's (Austria) stadium beforehand.
