BetMGM Witness Las Vegas Grand Prix Breaks Racing Records
It's Las Vegas Grand Prix week in Sin City and the return of Formula One (F1) to America's casino hubs. The event will generate record weekend wagering for the Las Vegas Strip integrated resort. Sportsbooks will also be participating in the event.
BetMGM noted that the Las Vegas Grand Prix "could become the largest single-seat racing venue in the company's history." Mobile and online versions of BetMGM, the third-largest internet sportsbook in the U.S., are available in 26 North American jurisdictions.
The operator's optimistic forecast for the F1 race takes into account expected activity at MGM Resorts International's nine retail sportsbooks on the Las Vegas Strip, most of which are within walking distance of race festivities.
Las Vegas race weekend has the potential to break every corporate record in the sport," BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said in a statement."Car Racing The popularity continues to grow in the U.S. and we're already seeing very high-profile activity surrounding this event. "
BetMGM is half-owned by MGM, with the other 50% controlled by British gambling giant Entain Plc.
Verstappen occupies the largest block
One of the numerous concerns surrounding the Las Vegas Grand Prix is speculation that fans simply won't be excited about the race. That's because the 2023 series title was secured just weeks ago by Dutch driver Max Verstappen.
This year marks Verstappen's third consecutive title, and his odds on winning the Las Vegas Grand Prix have dropped from -350 to -275 (bet $275 to win $100). This is testament to its dominance, as in non-team sports such as racing, golf and tennis, bets involving bonuses are often "plus money". As of this morning, Verstappen owned 58.6% of the race stakes at BetMGM.
However, he is not the sportsbook's biggest liability for the Las Vegas game. The award is currently held by American Logan Sargent of Williams. Sargent was followed at the BetMGM Responsibility Camp by his teammate Alex Albon and German driver Nicolas Hülkenberg of Haas Racing ).
According to the bookmaker, McLaren's Lando Norris and Red Bull Racing's Toro Rosso have the highest percentage in BetMGM races, behind Verstappen at 19.4%.
Three popular prop bets
While Verstappen can't win the Las Vegas Grand Prix, bettors looking for potential value and money might consider Owner Betting.
BetMGM stated that Verstappen's teammate Perez is the most watched mainstay in today's race and will enter the top three. The opening bid is +160, or you bet $100 and win $160. The second most popular side bet on BetMGM is for another driver to win the race against Verstappen for 200.
Finally, a race-winning Mercedes is the third-highest bet for BetMGM's Las Vegas Grand Prix, rated +1200.
