Love turmoil over J.Lo's involvement - Ben's appearances offer no promise.
The actor was headed to his daughter Violet's (18) high school graduation in LA, what should have been a joyous moment. Yet, Ben's somber demeanor suggested otherwise.
J.Lo and Ben, formerly known as "Batman," have been wed for two years, a second stab at marriage following their split 17 years ago. Everyone celebrated their love reunification, the world welcomed "Bennifer," and they kissed their way into history.
Yet, the initial jubilation seems to have worn off. Rumors have swirled for days now, claiming their marriage is drawing to an end. They've barely been seen together since March.
The exception occurred on the 17th of May: Jennifer and Ben attended Fin's (15) school play, but rather than quelling rumors of marital turmoil with affectionate displays, there were only brief conversations and chilly glances.
It was no different when they, once more, appeared together in LA a few days later. No sparks were evident.
On Monday, Ben was photographed at J.Lo's Netflix film "Atlas" premiere. According to "People," his reason for attending was because he was in Malibu (California) for filming. There was no evidence of his presence at the Met Gala in early May either, alone. Again, no explanations were given.
Despite this, there's still a glimmer of hope that the two may reunite. For instance, Ben was seen wearing his wedding ring again on one day in May, and Jennifer has not yet taken hers off.
Yet, rumours hint that they've been living in separate houses. Jennifer in a $60-million LA mansion they purchased last year for their shared future, and Ben in a $100,000 rented bungalow in Brentwood, not far from his ex-wife - Jennifer Garner (52) - with whom he shares Violet (18), Fin (15), and Samuel (12).
It's time, even for the most optimistic among us, to start letting go of the idea that "Bennifer" will have a real love reunion.
