Unanticipated move in the BBL. - Bayern secures Barcelona's top player.
FC Bayern Munich's basketball team is on the brink of recruiting a German international, Oscar da Silva (25), from FC Barcelona.
Robert Heusel, a renowned basketball journalist, first revealed this possible transfer.
Da Silva had switched from Alba Berlin to Spain in 2022 and had signed a three-year contract there.
Throughout the previous Euroleague season, the center averaged nearly 15 minutes per game for Barcelona, earning 3.4 points.
The 2.06-meter man is now returning home, although he never played for Bayern in the past.

At that point, he also praised the club's advancements: "Bayern are also targeting the top in Europe, which is a welcome development. However, in basketball, it's all about money. There are numerous European clubs with larger budgets. Nonetheless, I'm in contact with Munich, I have ties to the city, but not with Bayern Munich."
What he suggests is that next season, the basketball team would move into the newly constructed SAP Garden, one of the newest and most modern arenas in Europe.
Da Silva is a German with four international caps to his name. He states, "But I'm more German than Brazilian, so it was obvious that I wished to represent Germany. Before the 2023 Basketball World Cup, which Germany won in Manila/Philippines, he was one of the last players to be cut from the team by national coach Gordon Herbert (65).
Now, he is hoping to be invited to the DBB training camp for the Olympic Games in Paris. Conveniently, the camp will be held in Munich.
Oscar's sibling, Tristan (23), has enrolled for the upcoming NBA draft (June 27) after spending four years in college. Many experts predict he could make the transition to the world's premier league.
