Title: Broken-Nosed World Champion Emerges - Bayern Munich struggles with injuries to two of its top players ahead of the semi-finals.

Tonight (8:30 PM, live on Dyn/ADVERTISING), the first playoff semifinal match will be held at BMW Park in Munich between FC Bayern Basketball and Würzburg Baskets, a best-of-five series.

FC Bayern Basketballers are top contenders while Würzburg Baskets are a surprise team. They eliminated champions Ulm in the quarterfinals with confidence, as Bayern struggles with injury concerns.

Niels Giffey: Putting on a Mask Despite a Nose Bleed

Niels Giffey, a world champion, will continue playing despite a nosebleed. He collided with teammate Leandro Bolmaro in the first half of the match against Ludwigsburg but carried on. Giffey's nose is now broken; however, he will still play against Würzburg, wearing a mask!

The mask is designed to be lightweight, with significant developments in recent years. It's ensured that the field of vision is not too limited. "The mask is light, and many advancements have occurred in recent years," Giffey explains.

Doubts Surround Two Top Performers of the Bayern Basketballers

The status of Bayern's two standout players, Sylvain Francisco (26) and Nick Weiler-Babb (28), is uncertain. Francisco is managing a knee injury, while Weiler-Babb is utterly exhausted due to a recent thigh injury.

Francisco, one of the top French players, injured his knee but agrees with coach Pablo Laso (54) - "no risk."

Weiler-Babb, another national player, is still recovering from a severe thigh injury. Although his injury isn't severe, Laso is uncertain if he’ll make a comeback against Würzburg.

However, taking chances too early might cost them in a potential final.

Laso emphasizes, "We must play with the same intensity as against Ludwigsburg. Our squad depth can now benefit us."

Bayern clinches two home advantages, with the next match scheduled on Friday (8:30 PM, live on Dyn). Then, it moves to Würzburg for the third game on Sunday (3 PM).
