English account - Bayern had an interest in Glasner.

Bayern Munich has been searching for a new coach for the past three months. They've received rejections from Xabi Alonso (42/Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Nagelsmann (36/German Football Association) and Ralf Rangnick (65/Austria). Other coaches like Unai Emery (52/Aston Villa), Roberto De Zerbi (44/Brighton) and Roger Schmidt (57/Benfica Lisbon) want to stay at their current clubs or prefer to work in the Premier League like Julen Lopetegui (57/potentially at West Ham).

Recently, Sky UK reported that Bayern was interested in Oliver Glasner (49)!

Apparently, the decision-makers at Bayern, including sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund, approached Crystal Palace about Glasner's availability. However, the club promptly rejected the offer, according to the report.

Eberl and Glasner have a long-standing relationship. They worked together at RB Salzburg.

Changing coaches so soon after Glasner took over in February would have been surprising. Crystal Palace has been performing well lately. In fact, Glasner's team has been undefeated since April 6.

Glasner also gets along well with Crystal Palace owner Joshua Harris (59). The billionaire recently invited Glasner to play basketball with him in New York. Harris also owns the NBA team Philadelphia 76ers, and flew Glasner in for this.

So who will end up at Bayern?

There's a strong contender right now in former national team coach Hansi Flick (59), who won the treble for Bayern in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

With supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (68) and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen (56), Eberl would have two supporters of Flick within the club for this option. President Herbert Hainer (69) remained neutral towards Flick during both the good times and the more challenging phases, but always acknowledged his achievements with six titles in the 2019/20 season.
