Fascinating idea - Bayern coach is what Matthäus dreams of.

On a Friday, another shocking event occurred in the hunt for a coach: Thomas Tuchel (50) was eventually not ready to remain in Munich after the completion of the current season. Bayern had pondered discontinuing their partnership with him earlier in February. Despite the attempts to reverse the decision, it didn't happen.

Lothar Matthäus, a TV commentator, provided analysis on Sky: "We're always talking about Hollywood, that's the top."

The astonishment for the analyst arose from the fact that Tuchel agreed to even discuss the matter with the club, given their prior decision to part ways. He inferred that the coach may have desired a long-term contract.

The issue with the Tuchel negotiations came from rumors that not all board members, namely Uli Hoeneß (72) and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (68), were fully convinced to reverse their decision to terminate his contract.

Matthäus was adamant: "If Uli Hoeneß lifts his arm and decides against Tuchel, nothing will take place."

However, who would replace Tuchel? Matthäus shared his thoughts: "I still have the dream of Zinedine Zidane."

The Frenchman has been jobless since the summer of 2021. At Real Madrid, he secured three Champions League titles and became Spanish champions twice.

No direct conversations have taken place yet, though. One probable hurdle is that Zidane is said to not speak German or English fluently.

This language barrier does not seem to faze Matthäus: "Solutions can be found. When a Zidane stands in front of the team, with his victory record as a player and coach, the players would follow."

He concluded: "Envision this: Zidane donning a suit in the Allianz Arena, the Champions League. That's an extraordinary image."

Sky commentator Didi Hamann also considers Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou a potential candidate. Based on his intuition, Hamann expressed his belief that Postecoglou might leave London.
