Unruly activities occur in Ludwigsburg. - Bayern advances to the semifinals despite facing difficulties.

The Bayern Munich basketball team emerged victorious in their quarter-final playoff game against Ludwigsburg, winning with a score of 3:1 and clinching a spot in the semi-finals. The intense match ended with Bayern securing a hard-fought victory of 76:69 after four high-energy quarters.

A Crazy Ride in Ludwigsburg!

Despite a surprising loss in the season opener (98:102), Bayern managed to hold their own in this game. However, the favorites made this match more challenging than it needed to be against a passionate Ludwigsburg side.

The first quarter witnessed paltry shooting percentages from both teams - a mere 15% after seven minutes! Bayern held a modest lead of 8:5 at this stage, while Bayern's president Herbert Hainer observed their performance.

The second quarter was just as defensive and exciting, with some fantastic blocks, including a massive one from Ludwigsburg's Eddy Egidin against Andi Obst, the world champion. Nevertheless, Bayern led 40:34 at halftime.

DYN's expert Paul Zipser (30) voiced his opinion during the break, stating that Ludwigsburg must've been thrilled in their locker room. They had managed to keep themselves in the game thanks to their combativeness and rebounding skills. He also pointed out that skilled shooters would eventually improve their shooting accuracy. However, he believed that Bayern had an edge due to their expertise.

Ludwigsburg improved significantly in the third quarter, with Edigin (eight points in the initial five minutes) proving to be a key player. Yet, Bayern maintained their grip on the lead. Ludwigsburg struggled to match Bayern's efficiency in crucial moments, and they trailed by five points.

The game remained unpredictable. Ludwigsburg displayed incredible tenacity and managed to take the lead with just over three minutes remaining - but Graves couldn't convert a potential game-tying three. Thirty eight seconds later, Munich's lead had been restored to six points.

A close call followed in the final minutes - a "game clock error" resulted in several minutes of disorderly confusion. But, the game resumed at 67:73, and with 44 seconds left, Edwards converted a decisive three-pointer, making the score 76:69 in favor of Bayern. Edigin later described this moment as a defining one for "DYN": "Edwards' skill ultimately tipped the scales in Bayern's favor."

Ludwigsburg's head coach, Josh King, reflected on the game, expressing pride in his team and their performance: "We've played seven games in only twelve days. They fought fiercely. There's no shame in defeat here."

The semi-finals now feature Bayern and Würzburg - the Franconians had bested the defending champions Ulm with a 3:1 record.
