Prussia raises market worth - Batman holds the number one position.

Achieving success not only makes you appealing but also pricey, as Mönchengladbach's promotes showcase through their recent performances.

Immediately after the conclusion of the recently completed season, a new market value table can be found that displays the brilliant work of coach Sascha Hildmann's (52) team. Their astonishing rise from the 3rd league to the 2nd league has significantly increased the worth of almost every individual Preußen player with a contract for the upcoming season of 2024/2025. A total of ten of the current 19 players witnessed a noticeable increase in value, while six players stayed the same, and only two experienced a slight decrease.

The player with the highest valuation within the "Black-Green-Whites" is Malik "Batman" Batmaz (24). When he signed with Mönchengladbach from Karlsruher SC last year, his value was estimated at 400,000 euros. Now, he's worth 600,000 euros, recognizing his 17 goals and 38 appearances, out of which 34 were in the starting lineup.

Similarly, Joel "Johnny" Grodowski (26) attained 450,000 euros, earning him double his initial worth of 225,000 euros in June 2023. He and Batmaz were instrumental in Mönchengladbach's most significant achievement since 33 years by scoring 17 goals each.

Niko Koulis (24) gained an impressive 150,000 euros, moving from 125,000 euros to 275,000 euros. The emerging center-back stepped up during his second year and was the crucial force behind his team's success, featuring in 35 out of the 38 league games, playing the entire 90 minutes in 34 of them, missing only two matches. His absence was due to illness or yellow card suspension.

Daniel Kyerewaa (22) and Luca Bazzoli (24) also saw considerable gains. Their worth increased from 150,000 euros to 275,000 euros and from 225,000 euros to 325,000 euros, respectively.

Central defender Niko Koulis had a spotless season, even scoring six goals and thus considerably increasing his market value

However, there were two players whose value decreased compared to last year. Ogechika "Ogi" Heil (23) lost 50,000 euros, shifting from 300,000 euros to 250,000 euros. His decreased valuation can be attributed to the constant injury issues he faced this season. His painful injury problems began with his adductors, followed by further muscle ailments. Consequently, he only managed to appear for one game, substituting in the 5th matchday at home against Waldhof Mannheim for the game's final seven minutes. There are plenty of opportunities to enhance his talents in the upcoming season.

Lastly, the long-serving left-footer and team captain Marc Lorenz (35) saw a decrease in his market value from 200,000 euros to 150,000 euros. Despite being a team leader in the second half of the season, with four goals of his own and nine assists, his advancing age took a toll on his worth. Nonetheless, Otto Rehhagel's (85) famous line, "There is not too young or too old; only good or bad," accurately applies to Lorenz.

The market values of Mönchengladbach's players are as follows:

  • Malik "Batman" Batmaz: 600,000 Euro (400,000)
  • Joel "Johnny" Grodowski: 450,000 Euro (225,000)
  • Luca Bazzoli: 325,000 Euro (225,000)
  • Niko Koulis: 275,000 Euro (125,000)
  • Benjamin Böckle: 275,000 Euro (200,000 euros)
  • Daniel Kyerewaa: 275,000 Euro (150,000)
  • Thomas Kok: 250,000 Euro (200,000)
  • Jano ter Horst: 200,000 Euro (175,000)
  • Simon Scherder: 200,000 Euro (175,000)
  • Lukas Frenkert (was loaned out to Bocholt): 150,000 (100,000)

The value of the other players remained unchanged:

  • Johannes "Jojo" Schenk: 300,000 Euro (300,000)
  • Dominik Schad: 225,000 (225,000)
  • Rico Preißinger: 225,000 (225,000)
  • Yassine Bouchama: 175,000 (175,000)
  • Thorben Deters: 175,000 (175,000)
  • Gerrit Wegkamp: 200,000 euros (200,000)
  • Marvin Benjamins (was loaned out to Meppen): 25,000 Euro (25,000)

The pair who lost some value are:

  • Marc Lorenz: 150,000 Euro (200,000)
  • Ogechika "Ogi" Heil: 250,000 Euro (300,000)

On June 1st, representatives from Preußen, including Ole Kittner (36) and Harald Menzel (59), will be present at the Dortmund Football Museum for the draw of the first DFB-Pokal round during the ARD-Sportschau at 6 p.m.

Münster's ball remains in the amateur realm since they were relegated to the third division last year, granting them a home-field edge. Their potential contestants range from every Bundesliga club to the top 14 second division squads. The tournament is slated for August 16th through the 28th.

The first round of the DFB Cup will be drawn at the Dortmund Football Museum on Saturday
