Popular figure in film industry - Barbra Streisand Clarifies Weight Loss Comment as a Compliment
Barbra Streisand (82), a famous Hollywood figure, has faced backlash for a remark she made about actress Melissa McCarthy (53). Streisand wants to clarify the context behind this comment involving the weight loss drug, Ozempic.
A picture of the actress Melissa McCarthy and director Adam Shankman was posted on Instagram, with McCarthy wearing a classy pastel green dress. Streisand commented on the photo, asking if McCarthy had used Ozempic for weight reduction but later deleted her comment. Many Instagram users criticized Streisand's comment.
To clear the air, Streisand articulated her reason for asking the question in an Instagram story. She was amazed by McCarthy's appearance in the photo and genuinely wanted to pay a compliment. However, she didn't consider the public's view during her comment. Streisand also highlighted McCarthy's contribution to her album "Encore" where they had performed a song called "Anything You Can Do" in 2016.
Comedian Melissa McCarthy ("Tough Girls", "The Boss") appears to take the situation with ease. When asked by a TMZ.com photographer if Streisand had crossed the line, McCarthy simply said, "Barbra is a sweetheart, and I love her."
