96-Members Required! - Bad luck befalls Ezeh as Gindorf receives praise.
Hannover 96 is set to take on Paderborn on Sunday (1:30pm) with the aim of instilling fear in their opponents. The Lower Saxony club has never managed to secure a victory against Paderborn and has suffered four consecutive losses. Hannover's coach, Stefan Leitl, is eager to change this. "We're highly motivated to finally break the cycle," said Leitl, expressing his excitement for the match. "We want to win and make up for lost time."
Current status of Hannover 96
Leitl is still without the services of Havard Nielsen due to an Achilles tendon injury. Christopher Scott's back injury and Brooklyn Ezeh's illness will also keep them out of the game.
Although Scott has participated in parts of the team's training, he will not be ready in time for Sunday's match. Leitl revealed, "He'll be fully fit by Monday and will have two more weeks to prove himself."
Scott is currently on loan from Royal Antwerp but has not made more than five appearances for Hannover. In fact, he was not even part of the second division team in the second half of the season.
Ezeh is also competing with Scott for the title of "unluckiest player of the season." The left-back injured his ankle during a game against Hertha and had to take a break due to illness this week. He participated in light training on Friday but it won't be enough for the Paderborn match. According to Leitl, "I assume that Brooklyn will return to training on Monday and be available for the final two games."
Ezeh has been out for four months due to mental issues. After making his return, he missed a game against Schalke and was left out of the squad for two games. Unfortunately, he will now also miss the Paderborn game. He hopes to showcase his skills in Karlsruhe and against Kiel and potentially regain his starting spot.
Gindorf to keep his position in the starting lineup
"Lars played well, both from the bench and from the start," said Leitl. "There's no reason to take him out." Leitl remains confident in Gindorf's abilities and has no plans of replacing him.
