St. Pauli's ambition for advancement - Avoid rushing onto the field!

The last time St. Pauli was promoted at home (1995/95:0 against Homburg), the gates broke loose right before the end. Thousands of spectators invaded the field in the 88th minute. They assumed that referee Brandt-Cholleé's penalty whistle signaled the final whistle. There was confusion for about a quarter of an hour about what would happen next.

Planning St. Pauli's Promotion Party

St. Pauli aims to prevent a rush after the Osnabrück game. They'll instead walk around the field to express gratitude to the fans during this season in the second division.

"The players have been approaching the fans in wheelchairs in the main stand, then moving to the north curve, along the back straight and finally to the south curve. The team wants to genuinely thank all its fans in this way," St. Pauli shared. The Regionalliga U23's season finale will also occur a week later on the Millerntor pitch.

But there's the unpredictable zeal of the supporters.

Both the players' emotions and fans' excitement are undeniable. How they link will be revealed following the final whistle on Sunday. If there are any issues in the arena or behind the walls, health will take priority over the pitch's well-being.

The rest is uncertain. The club has not strategically planned anything. However, we're confident the fans' festivities will transition from the stadium to Spielbudenplatz. The finale of the 2023/24 season will be here on May 20. Bands and DJs will join them to celebrate.

Prior to the celebrations, St. Pauli is backing a demonstration in Hamburg's city center to uphold democracy and club culture. Their president, Oke Göttlich (48), noted, "Authoritarian opponents have been attempting to erode our shared values for years and are recently becoming more aggressive, loud, and intimidating. As St. Pauli, our fanbase and members have joined various initiatives and groups that combat these trends."
